Black and dark paintings for a wall
Black paintings are the ones people buy last and like most, usually because a dark piece gives a bright room somewhere to rest.
These use black as structure rather than gloom: as line, as ground, as the thing the other colours sit against. Worth knowing that black canvases photograph badly and look considerably better in a room, so if a piece here looks flat on a screen, ask us for a daylight photograph before you rule it out.
Do black paintings make a room feel dark?
Not usually. A dark canvas on a light wall reads as a focal point rather than as shade, and it is the pieces with black grounds here that hold other colours in place.
Are the colours in the photographs accurate?
Close, but dark paintings lose depth on a screen. Ask for a daylight photograph or a short video of any piece you are considering.
How much do these cost?
From Rs 4,030 for a Small Rolled 12 by 18 inch canvas, rising with size to 48 by 48 inches.
