Delivery and returns

Most of the questions that reach us before an order are about two things: how long it takes, and what happens if something is wrong. Both are answered here. Nothing on this page is a guess.

Shipping within India

Shipping is free on every order inside India. Delivery takes 7 to 10 business days from the date we dispatch, and tracking goes to your email as soon as the painting leaves the studio. Domestic orders arrive stretched on a wooden frame, ready to hang straight out of the box. We use kiln-dried stretcher bars that keep the canvas taut rather than bowing after a few months on a wall.

Shipping outside India

We ship to more than 50 countries. International orders travel rolled in a protective tube rather than on a frame, which is what keeps a canvas from being damaged in transit and costs far less to send. Expect 2 to 4 weeks depending on the destination and how long customs takes. International shipping is charged at cost, and the amount depends on your country.

Made to order and commissions

Paintings made or commissioned for you need 6 to 8 weeks of painting before shipping begins. Add the shipping time above on top of that. Commissions start at 12 by 12 inches, from Rs 3,000 per square foot, in acrylic or oil on stretched cotton canvas.

If you need a piece by a particular date, write to hello@lokalokastudio.com before ordering. We would rather tell you plainly that a deadline is not achievable than take the order and disappoint you.

Returns

Every painting is a handmade original made specifically for your order, so we do not accept returns or exchanges under normal circumstances. A piece that has been painted for you cannot honestly be resold as new.

We do stand behind the work. If your painting arrives damaged in shipping, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photographs of the damage and of the packaging. We will arrange a replacement or a full refund, at no cost to you. The photographs matter because they are what lets us take the matter up with the courier rather than absorbing it.

Payment

Inside India we accept all major credit and debit cards including Visa, Mastercard and RuPay, UPI through Google Pay, PhonePe and Paytm, net banking, and wallets. International customers can pay by card at checkout.
